There are over 145 branches within the company that have Parts Departments based within them. They supply both franchise and non-franchise vehicle parts and accessories, internally as well as to trade clients and non-trade customers. James is Manager of one such Parts Department.

Based at the company's head office in Glasgow, James oversees a staff of 12 who can supply almost any car part or accessory, ranging from car stereo systems to alloy wheels and car mats to vehicle security and new exhausts, wiper blades or tyres. James said, "I've worked at Arnold Clark for the last 11 years and in that time have worked my way up the ladder from Parts Apprentice to Parts Manager, and have watched the Parts Division of Arnold Clark grow dramatically. Today we have a network of over 150 vans delivering parts throughout the whole of the UK and as a group, we are ideally placed to quickly source and supply any part or accessory you require, regardless of the vehicle make and model - all at excellent value for money."

At just sixteen, James joined the company straight from school as an Apprentice working at The St Georges Road branch. After 4 years he progressed to qualified Parts person and with continual training and mentoring from senior staff within the company, he's never looked back. Promoted to Parts Supervisor of the Pollokshaws Road branch in 2002, he led the team to a Vauxhall franchise competition victory, winning the Trade Club Cup in 2005 and was then further promoted to his current position of Parts Manager early 2006.

James has since been Manager of the Vauxhall site in the South side of Glasgow and relishes his new role. He said, "The staff here, and within the company are great to work with and the training that's on offer is really excellent. I was only 16 when I first joined the company and certainly never thought that one day I'd be managing a pay roll never mind managing other people, but the hard work and Arnold Clark training courses have definitely paid off. It can be challenging but it's worth it. All the Parts Managers from throughout the company get together for regular meetings where we discuss individual branch progress in comparison to each franchise group's progress and how that ties in with the group efforts overall. We run a Parts League Competition throughout the company which is all a bit of fun and helps keep everyone on their toes and this year, my team are hoping to wipe the floor with the rest of the teams - all in good sport of course!"
