Bobby, Sales Manager
Dumbarton Renault Bobby started his career with Arnold Clark as a Valeter at the Paisley branch some 15 years ago. After four years - and much pestering of the General Manager - his transfer into sales was approved. In July 1994, Bobby arrived at work, donning a sharp suit instead of his usual overalls. He comments:"I'll never forget my first day as sales trainee - it felt quite strange going to the same place but doing a different job. I was really excited and can even remember my first sale of a Peugeot 307 to a local man called Mr. Green." After a couple of years of selling many cars to many a happy customer, Bobby was promoted to a senior sales post within Arnold Clark, based at Pollokshaws Road. Promotion to Sales Manager at Dumbarton soon followed another three years later. “When I was offered the transfer I remember thinking: Valeter to Sales Manager in 15 easy years!
