Ford’s Commonwealth cars became an iconic part of the Games in Glasgow this year. These cars are now available to buy here.
The cars were used throughout the Games for transport, and were also used during the 40-day domestic leg of the Queen’s Baton Relay.
Ford used a selection of market-leading vehicles for the purpose, including Ford Focus, Ford C-Max, Ford Kuga, Ford S-Max, Ford Mondeo, and Ford Galaxy. (Games cars on these links will state 'Ex-Commonwealth Games Car' in the description).
The low CO2 emissions across the majority of the fleet helped to reflect the aim to deliver a sustainable Games.
These one-of-a-kind vehicles with a unique history are now being put on sale through Arnold Clark. Customers can choose to purchase the vehicles with or without the Commonwealth decals, and Arnold Clark is also offering an additional ‘thank you’ discount to all Games 2014 volunteers (both Clydesiders and Host City volunteers). Over and above huge savings on Cost New, Arnold Clark is offering these exclusive discounts:
£250 discount on Ford Commonwealth Games vehicles
£100 discount on any vehicle purchased from Arnold Clark within the next three months
Customers can search for the vehicle they are looking for on the Arnold Clark website. The Ford Commonwealth Games vehicles will be listed under our ‘Nearly New’ section. All of the vehicles have very low mileage due to only being used during the Games.
Volunteers may also browse vehicles online, however volunteer offers must be redeemed in-branch. Following the presentation of proof of volunteer status at the branch, £250 (or £100 if a non-Commonwealth vehicle is selected) will be deducted from the price of the vehicle.
These vehicles are available in-branch now, and can be purchased from any Arnold Clark Ford or Motorstore dealership.
Forget the Clyde teddy; this is a unique opportunity to get your hands on arguably the best Commonwealth souvenir possible. We think it's pure dead brilliant!
