Recently we wrote about in-car technology and how it’s changing the way many people approach purchasing a new car.

But it’s not just the way we buy cars that technology is changing; it’s how we drive them too.

As our article touched on, cars are becoming jam-packed with tech to make driving more entertaining and the experience much less stressful.

It’s now rather common to find cars fitted with multimedia connectivity, such as Bluetooth, integrated sat nav systems, and touchscreen control panels.

In addition, there are now cars that park for you too.

For example, some models of the Ford Focus measure spaces at the push of a button, to see if it’ll fit in it. If it will fit, the car will parallel park itself while the driver sits idle.

However, BMW has decided to take this to another level.

It’s new 7 series is set to allow owners to park the car remotely, using a tiny touchscreen on the key.

In addition to this owners will also be able to, using the remote key, pull the car out of a space when it’s time to leave.

Oh, and if that wasn’t futuristic enough for you, this model is set to come with gesture control, with drivers being able to command the car to answer the phone, or change what song is playing just by moving their hand in a certain way.

Needless to say we can’t wait for the car’s release next year!

If you can’t wait till 2016 to get your hands on a 7 series, why not search our new and nearly BMWs to help find your next car.

Preview the all-new BMW 7 Series.
