The Duster dCi 110 4x2 was the model of choice for the judges. The car was noted for its performance, and the way it behaves and drives in the real world, aside from lab testing.

The Green Apple Awards are judged by members of the Midland Group of Motoring Writers. Ian Donaldson, the group’s chairman said:

‘The Dacia Duster represents the best sort of economical motoring, returning good economy and costing less than you might expect for a car that feels modern and well equipped. It was greatly liked by my fellow members of the MGMW.’

The Duster is the most affordable SUV on the market and it has been part of the range since Dacia’s launch in 2013. It offers great value for money as well as an enjoyable drive.

The environmental numbers all add up, with a combined MPG of 56.5 and emissions as low at 130.0g/km, meaning VED is free.

It is a spacious vehicle with five seats and enough head and legroom for adults. The boot space offers 475 litres with the rear seats up and 1,636 litres with them folded down.

Louise O’Sullivan, Brand Manager, Dacia UK said:

‘We’re delighted the Duster has been recognised by such a well-respected environmental group as the Green Organisation. The Duster has really struck a chord with the Great British public thanks to its no-nonsense approach to motoring and shocking affordability, but this award proves just how economical it is, too.'

The Dacia Duster has won multiple awards and has featured on our list of Top five crossovers, best 4X4s to buy right now and the best 4x4 cars for tackling winter weather.

The Green Apple Awards are organised by the Green Organisation and recognises companies, individuals, councils and international corporations that have made a positive impact on the environment or that are acting to improve sustainability.

The Green Organisation was established in 1994 and is an independent, non-profit environmental group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
