We are delighted to announce that we are supporting local swimmers Michael Jamieson and Robbie Renwick and look forward to cheering the medal hopefuls on at London 2012 Olympic Games.
Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavours to qualify for Team GB or Paralympics GB.
“We’re really grateful to Harry Fairbairn and BMW for their support,” said Michael Jamieson. “It’s tough trying to qualify for an Olympic place and it’s a big help knowing that they are behind us, helping to raise funds and awareness. It’s also fantastic having a brand new MINI Cooper D Countryman from now until the end of the 2012 Games. There’s a lot of travelling to heats, competitions and promotional events so it’s great being able to arrive there in style.”
Robbie Maltby, Dealer Principal at Harry Fairbairn, said: “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get really involved with the 2012 Games. Our staff and customers are keen to support London 2012 so we’re really happy to be backing Robbie Renwick and Michael Jamieson"
