Wipers Make sure they are working properly and the blade is not worn out.
Lights Make sure your lights are working effectively and all the bulbs are still functioning - in particular
your fog lights.
Anti-freeze Add this to your radiator and top up your screen wash.
Windows Check for any cracks that could be getting worse and that your rear heated window is working
Oil Levels Every fortnight check your oil levels, simply leave the car to cool for ten minutes, remove and
wipe away any unwanted oil deposits from the oil dipstick, put the dipstick back into the engine,
wait for a few seconds and remove it again to check the levels. The oil should be between both
marks, but preferably closer to the maximum mark. If you need to top up the oil, locate the oil
filler cap; pour in small amounts of oil until the level is correct
Snow & Ice Ensure you clear all snow and ice off your vehicle before you drive and that your heater is
blowing warm air so as to clear your windscreen.
Route Planning Ensure you know the route you are going to be taking and check the traffic report in advance
so you know if there may be any delays etc.
Weather Report Check the weather report before going on any journey to ensure you are prepared as possible for the winter weather.
Driving in Winter Weather If you have to drive then ensure someone knows where you are going and the route you are taking.
