The A4 remains one of Audi’s top sellers. As for the diesel offerings, all of them are 2.0-litre units offering variations in power and responsiveness. The entry-level diesel is a 30 TDI producing 134bhp and up to 72.4mpg. This reaches 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds. The 35 TDI produces 161bhp and up to 56.5mpg. It reaches 0-62mph in 8.2 seconds and is a top pick thanks to its turbo diesel engine combined with a 7-speed S-tronic automatic gearbox. Last but not least is the 40 TDI, producing 201bhp, achieving up to 65.7mpg and completing 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds.

Revisions to the Audi A4 range in 2019 mean that all newer engines are equipped with fuel-saving mild-hybrid technology.
