What is the Ford Fiesta Active X

For decades, the Fiesta hatchback has been one of Ford’s most iconic models. As a supermini, it checks all the boxes: agile performance, space for four, practicality and innovative technology. The demand for SUV-style vehicles rose in the mid-2010s, and the American brand looked to expand its offering. Ford developed a version of the Fiesta with an elevated ride height, tougher aesthetics and roof rails. Ford Fiesta Active X history

No fewer than six generations followed over the years, with the Mk7 arriving in 2017. It was with this edition that the Fiesta Active became available. Three engine options are available in the Ford Fiesta Active X. All comprise a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol unit, and outputs include 99bhp, 123bhp and 153bhp. These provide 0-62mph times of 10.8 seconds, 9.5 seconds and 8.9 seconds respectively. All are paired with six-speed manual transmission as standard, while the 123bhp variant can be specified with a six-speed automatic gearbox.

In 2022, updated Fiesta Active and Active X Editions went on sale. These featured an enlarged and raised front grille, slimmer headlights and revised air vents in the lower bumper. Inside, a new 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster was added, which took on a different aesthetic depending on your chosen driving mode. Trail and Slippery driving modes were added to provide optimum traction in challenging conditions.

The Ford Fiesta Active X was on sale until the summer of 2023, when all variants of the Fiesta were discontinued. Ford cited the need for factory space to expand its electric offering as a key reason for the end to production.
