Vauxhall Astra updates and facelifts

From the Mk1 in 1979, to the Mk7 in 2015, the Astra has seen a lot of change though remains the same reliable and robust Astra no matter the generation. The most recent version, the Mk7, was debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September of 2015, available as a five-door hatchback and estate. The Mk7 had a cosmetic facelift in 2019. The interior, equipment and technology remained largely unchanged with the biggest updates being to the engine and the chassis. The facelift on Mk7 was designed to make the Astra larger, lighter, and more fuel efficient than its predecessors.

The three-cylinder petrol and diesel Astra engines are now being designed and manufactured at Opel’s HQ in Germany. On Astra models manufactured after 2021, the addition of a PHEV is available. All-electric models will be offered by Vauxhall from 2023. These are great sustainable options with improved fuel efficiency.

Mk6 models boast a conveniently styled interior and includes: a CD player and radio, front electric windows, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, ISOFIX child seat anchoring points, air conditioning, cloth-trimmed seats, and central locking.
