Apprentices working at Arnold Clark
Arnold Clark is delighted to announce the return of the Get into Cars programme in association with the Prince’s Trust.
The scheme is open to young people living in Glasgow aged between 16 and 25, who are either unemployed or not in education or training. Through Get into Cars, they can kick-start their career in the automotive industry by participating in an intensive six-week training programme.
Allan Watt, Prince’s Trust Scotland Director, said: ‘Thanks to our work with Arnold Clark, we are able to give even more young people the chance to get the skills and experience they need to break into the car and mechanics industry.’

Our Get into programme brings together employers and The Prince’s Trust to offer courses in everything from cooking to construction, logistics to retail. We would love to hear from any young person who wants to find out what opportunities we can offer to help them achieve their goals.’
During this six-week course, students will spend four weeks learning in GTG’s Glasgow automotive training centre, learning about various aspects of car mechanics, including valeting and vehicle maintenance, under the supervision of expert tutors. In addition, they will be placed within a local Arnold Clark branch for two weeks to gain experience of the workplace.
Following the course, every participant will be given a guaranteed interview for a mechanical apprenticeship with Arnold Clark.
Get into Cars has been running since 2009 with more than 100 students taking on an apprenticeship at Arnold Clark thanks to the scheme.
This year the scheme will be taking on 13 candidates. The closing date for applications is Sunday 7th May.
