A Lexus LFA owner in Norway has managed to persuade his local town council to remove a speed bump that was too high to for him to drive his car over.

Norwegian website Broom reports that Rune Berge Vik first realised he had a problem soon after collecting his 412kW Japanese supercar from an importer in Oslo. He is one of just 500 owners of the “LFA” model, and the first owner of this supercar in the Nordic region. But when he encountered a speed bump on his trip from Oslo to his hometown of Stavanger, he found it impossible to go any further.

Vik was unable to negotiate the speed bump - positioned on the only road providing access to his home - without causing damage to the underside of his car. Local authorities answered his plea and removed the speed bump, allowing Berge to pass without damaging his vehicle.

With a ground clearance of just 10.9cm, the Lexus LFA gained publicity most recently when Jeremy Clarkson claimed, “most things are wrong with it, but it's still the best car I've driven.”
