The Monaco Grand Prix is perhaps the most glamorous event in the sporting calendar. To mark the occasion, Renault will be sharing the all-new Megane RS with the public for the first time, with Renualt’s Formula 1 diver Nico Hülkenberg behind the wheel.

He’ll drive this new model through the streets of Monaco on 26th May ahead of the race on Sunday 28th. The car will be liveried with Renault Sport’s traditional yellow and black colours, marking 40 years since the French manufacturer began their involvement in Formula 1.

Renault first launched their hot hatch back in 2004. Throughout the years they have used their motorsport knowledge to transform their traditional hatchback into a more complete driving machine. Innovative features on previous models have included bucket seats, independent steering axis front suspension and Brembo brake discs.

The new car has to match the reputation of its hugely successful predecessor with the current model breaking the record for the fastest lap for a front-drive hot hatch on the Nürburgring.

Renault hasn’t revealed much about the new engine and specifications but expect all the details to be released at the official launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The first production cars are expected to be available in showrooms in 2018.
