Alan Howieson, a long-standing member of the accounts division of the Arnold Clark Group, has been shortlisted as a finalist of the Scottish Accountancy Awards for ‘Training Manager of the Year’.

On leaving university, Alan gained his Chartered Accountancy qualification with a mid-tier accounting firm in Glasgow. From there he went on to work for one of the ‘Big 4’ accounting firms, where he gained a diverse range of experience and training.

On commencing his career within the Arnold Clark Group, Alan developed a training programme with the help of the training team that has become integral to the success and growth of the accounts department at Arnold Clark.

Over time, the Arnold Clark Accounts Academy has evolved and has been an ACCA 'Platinum Approved Employer' for the last four years. The team have formulated a structured training programme that is beneficial to the continued development of graduates within the Arnold Clark Group.
