Volkswagen Golf number 30 million was the new Bluemotion model – the most fuel-efficient and economical Golf ever developed, with a claimed fuel economy of 88.3 MPG and CO2 emissions of just 88 g/km. The car will now go on display for its Wolfsburg employees to enjoy.

Launched in 1974, the Volkswagen Golf is one of the most popular cars ever built, with many considering it the benchmark to which all other hatchback manufacturers compare themselves. Volkswagen estimates that over the last 39 years, 2,000 people have purchased a Golf every day!

Professor Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG, said: “The history of the Golf is also the history of automotive progress.

The history of the Golf is also the history of automotive progress.
With technologies such as the safe front-wheel drive of the first Golf, the debut of the TDI in the third Golf, ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and the dual clutch gearbox of the fourth Golf and the standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking System of the new generation, this car has continued to democratize progress.”

Arnold Clark has a huge range of Volkswagen Golfs for sale, including the new Mk7 model, which was recently named the World Car of the Year.
