Toyota Hybrid-R

The new Hybrid-R is based on a current Toyota production model, and is equipped with a powertrain that features similar technology to that used by Toyota Racing’s TS030 Hybrid race car in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The car uses a high-power internal combustion engine with electric motors to achieve a maximum power output of over 400bhp (298kW). Additionally, a dual mode control allows the car’s performance to be tailored to suit either road or racetrack.

Jaguar 4x4

Reports in Autocar magazine suggest that Jaguar will enter the 4x4 market with a sporty crossover to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car – set to be a favourite with suburban yummy mummies – is due to roll off production lines in 2016 and will be priced at around £30,000.

Part of their ‘aggressive development plans’, the Jaguar 4x4 is still shrouded in mystery, with only artist impressions of what the design will entail.

Other launches at the Frankfurt Motor Show

We have recently reported that there will be a Kia concept car unveiled at the event on September 10th, as well as concept cars from smart and the Rapid Spaceback from Skoda.

The Hyundai i10 will also premiere at Frankfurt, alongside the Peugeot 308 hatchback, the BMW X5 and the new Vauxhall Insignia. Vauxhall will also unveil the Monza concept car at the event.

If you are lucky enough to attend the motoring extravaganza in Frankfurt, you will also get to see the Citron DS3 Cabrio racing concept car, unveiled earlier this year at Goodwood Festival of Speed.
