The Edinburgh Festival will host an array of exciting performers

The 2014 Edinburgh International Festival programme has now been announced and boasts 23 days jam-packed with entertainment.

Every August the festival organisers transform the city of Edinburgh into an art-lovers paradise with over three weeks of creative and cultural events, including music, theatre, opera and dance. These events will be held throughout Edinburgh, in the city’s six major theatres and concert halls as well as smaller, more intimate venues – and will showcase some of the worlds most influential performers. Get a sneak peek of all the wonderful performances taking place at the 2014 Festival.

The festival will kick off on Friday the 8th of August in Usher Hall with The Opening Concert, performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. The following weeks will be filled with an impressive range of operas, including Les Troyens, a variety of theatre productions, including The War and Exhibit B, several dance shows, such as Sweet Mambo, a whole range of music concerts, and an abundance of talks and workshops. The Edinburgh International Festival will then conclude on Sunday 31st of August with a not-to-be missed firework display.
