The top 5 best cars for millionaires

Ever wondered what car you could buy if you were a millionaire? Check out our top picks here.

If you’re an aspiring millionaire then it’s vital that you cruise around in style, even if it does mean dropping a few million on a slick ride. The cars you’re about to see make the likes of Mercedes-Benz and BMW seem like absolute bargains! With Wall Street bonuses up by 15% this year, it looks like Leonardo DiCaprio won’t be the only one of our friends across the pond who can afford a luxurious new runaround. With this in mind, here’s our pick of the best millionaire buys:

5) Bugatti Veyron Legend Meo Constantini $2.8m

With a price tag of $2.8m, you definitely get your money’s worth as far as speed is concerned with the Meo Constantini. It reaches 62mph without struggle in a mere 2.6 seconds (almost as fast as you can say ‘Bugatti!’). If you’re lucky enough to own one, you can expect top speeds of 253mph with the roof down – a credit to the exquisite, sleek design and the 8.0-litre engine. Even the interior screams ‘luxury’ with the vintage-inspired navy and tan design and ‘Meo Constantini’ elegantly embroidered into the headrests. Fun fact – the silhouette of the Targo Florio race course is painted on the underside of the rear air-brake in homage to Meo's (the late sporting manufacturer of Bugatti) double victory there. Overall, we think it’s a great choice if you have a spare couple of million kicking around!

4) W Motors Lykan Hypersport $3.4m

Everyone loves an underdog and that’s exactly what the Hypersport is. Created by a little-known and fairly new Lebanese company, it has taken the saturated super car market by storm. With a top speed of 240mph, it falls slightly behind the Meo Constantini. However, what it lacks in pace it makes up for in aesthetics. The front lights are laced with titanium and diamonds. Not happy with that, millionaire? You can happily customise them with whichever rubies, diamonds and sapphires your heart desires. Because everyone knows precious stone encrusted lights are an absolute must…

3) Mansory Vivere Bugatti Veyron $3.4m

Number three is another limited edition Bugatti Veyron but with high-profile millionaire owners such as Simon Cowell, Jay-Z and Ralph Lauren we think Bugatti is kind of a big deal and merits two slots in our countdown. With its modified wings, shortened bonnet and striking monochrome design this Bugatti has serious attitude. The interior is seriously impressive thanks to the ambient lighting which is reminiscent of a lavish hotel suite (and at that price, it might as well be the entire hotel). It doesn’t just end there; the exterior paint job catches the light so well you’d think it was permanently frosty. Ice cold!

2) Lamborghini Veneno $4m

Lamborghini is marketing this as the closest experience to race car driving the average human being can get whilst still obeying the rules of the road. Extremity and drama are key themes in the design with its jagged fighter jet-esque look which is a visual representation of its speed – it reaches 60mph in 2.9 seconds. Sounds like you’d be in for a shaky ride? Never. Lamborghini ensured aerodynamics and stability were made priorities.

1) Maybach Exelero $8M

Perhaps the most unique out of our top five but also the most expensive, the Exelero is a thirties-inspired thing of beauty. Reminiscent of a limousine, it oozes sophistication and class with its sleek, streamlined design. It falls behind the aforementioned vehicles on account of taking comparatively long to reach 60mph (by long, we mean 4.4 seconds) – but when you’re dealing with such high-spec cars, every second definitely counts! Therefore, exclusivity, aesthetics and downright outrageousness must be the aspects which contribute to the Maybach’s eight million dollar price tag.
