Cars ads dominate Super Bowl 49

This year, car ads dominated the screen at half time during the NFL Super Bowl XLIX.

Last week you may have seen our article on BMW’s i3 Super Bowl advert. But BMW wasn’t the only car manufacturer who advertised during what is billed as one of the largest sporting events on the planet.

Alongside the German carmakers were adverts for new cars from Fiat, Nissan, Dodge, Kia, Honda, Mazda, Mercedes-AMG, Jeep, Chevrolet, and two from both Lexus and Toyota.

One of the highest-rating TV events, this year’s match with 114.5 million viewers and a peak of 120.8 million for the final quarter (the most-watched show in U.S. TV history), it’s no wonder so many brands pay through the nose to advertise during what is the climax to the American Football season.

But with so many brands choosing to advertise during the Super Bowl (not just car manufacturers) it’s important they make their adverts stand out and stick in the minds of the mammoth audience.

This year was no different.

For many, the picks of the bunch were: BMW: ‘Newfangled Idea’, Fiat: ‘Blue Pill’, and Kia: ‘Perfect Getaway’ – brands Arnold Clark is proud to stock new cars of.

With that said, on the whole, the adverts for all these car brands were pretty good.

We’d like to know what you think, though. Which car advert from Super Bowl Sunday, 2015, do you prefer?

Check out all the adverts mentioned above. Our favourite is the animated Mercedes-Benz's 'Fable', which is shown below...

BMW i3 – 'Newfangled Idea'

Dodge – 'Born Dodge'

Fiat – 'Blue Pill'

Kia – 'Perfect Getaway'

Lexus – 'Let's Play'

Lexus – 'Make Some Noise'

Nissan – 'With Dad'

Toyota – 'How Great I Am'

Toyota – 'My Bold Dad'

Honda – 'Synchronised Parking'

Mazda – 'Penn & Teller'

Mercedes-AMG – 'Fable'

Jeep – 'Beautiful Lands'
