Black VW Tiguan Allspace from the front

The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is a large SUV, combining excellent practicality and stylish looks. First launched in 2016, the Allspace shares many similarities with the original Volkswagen Tiguan, including a large range of petrol and diesel engines. But with refined looks, an upmarket interior and seven-seat configurability, the Allspace has substantial appeal of its own. The Allspace offers substantial cabin room and comfort throughout as its length is 215mm longer than the original Tiguan.

The Allspace has a range of smart and drive-enhancing technology to help you stay entertained and safe on the road. Depending on the trim, you will find an eight-inch colour touchscreen with a range of media connectivity for long distances. You’ll also find smart safety technology such as rear parking sensors and automatic wipers.

Equally at home cruising over long distances as it is navigating country roads, the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is well suited for a range of different drives. This all-round suitability makes it a competitor for other models like the Škoda Kodiaq, SEAT Tarraco and Kia Sorrento. The model’s four trims also mean there are a range of specifications to choose from, making it easy to find the right Allspace that suits your needs.

Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace updates and facelifts

Black VW Tiguan Allspace from the rear

The Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace was first unveiled in 2016 as the long wheelbase edition of the original Volkswagen Tiguan. In addition to its dimensions, the Allspace has a number of stylistic differences ensuring it retains plenty of its own appeal. The Allspace was released with longer side doors, and larger windows between the C and D-pillars.

A 2021 facelift remodelled the Allspace’s exterior, with a striking new front grille and reshaped VW logo adding to its premium look. Its headlights also benefitted from the addition of 24 individual LED lights with automatic weather adjustability. Inside, Volkswagen added their new infotainment system complete with climate control and touchscreen functionality.

Practicality and style of the car

The Allspace is an exceptionally practical car thanks to its sizable dimensions and seven-seat functionality. It has a width of 2,099mm and a height of 1,674mm. With a length of 4,701mm, the Allspace is 215mm longer than the original Tiguan, and thanks to this added cabin room, the Allspace comes with a third row of seats that can fit two small passengers. These seats can be folded down to create a larger boot space, making the Allspace an easily adaptable model.

With all seven seats occupied, the model has a boot size of 230 litres.By folding down the third row of seats, this can be expanded to 700 litres. Fold the middle seats down and 1,775 litres of space is on offer – a much greater capacity than the SEAT Tarraco’s 1,175 litres.

A used Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace is also a suitable towing vehicle. It has a maximum braked towing capacity of up to 2,500kg which is enough for most trailers and caravans. And to make family adventures even easier, you’ll find two ISOFIX points in the middle outer seats making it easy to fit safety seats.
