The Glasgow Kiltwalk takes place on 30th April with thousands expected to participate, and a number of Arnold Clark employees among them. We’ve been speaking to some of our staff to find out about what inspired them to participate and the causes they’re supporting.

Digital Marketing Executive Rebecca Kanagarajah is taking part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk and tackling the 23-mile Mighty Stride. She’ll be supported along the way by four people who are close to her: Lewis Gardiner, Caitlin Reilly, Katherine Duncan and Hayley Glancy. They’re working together to raise money for Scottish Association for Mental Health and Carr Gomm.

Rebecca said: ‘After a long and difficult journey, my mum was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about a year ago. In a sense, it was a relief for her and our family that my mum had a diagnosis and that there might be help out there. This is where SAMH and Carr Gomm come in, they were there for my mum and helped her build back some confidence and were there as a friend and simply someone to talk to.

‘Both these charities have helped my mum, Rhona Kanagarajah, through her battle with mental health, anxiety and depression. My mum has said a price cannot be put on what both charities have done for her.’

For training, Rebecca has been taking long walks at the weekend to help prepare for the big event.

Rebecca has already exceeded her fundraising target of £300, and Arnold Clark will be matching every penny raised up to £1000.

We wish Rebecca the best of luck on the big day!
