Will I be the first registered keeper if I buy a nearly new car?

Not always. If the car is pre-registered, we will have registered it first, so records will show Arnold Clark as the first keeper and you as the second. Delivery mileage and ex-demonstrator cars are similar.

Does the manufacturer warranty start from when I buy the car or when it was first registered?

The warranty usually starts on the first registration date, not the purchase date. If the car was registered six months ago, you may receive the remaining term, not the full period. Speak to one of our branches regarding warranty expiry dates on specific stock.

How many miles should a nearly new car have?

There’s no fixed rule, but generally a nearly new car should typically have under 100 miles, although this can vary.

Do nearly new cars need an MOT?

In the UK, cars need an MOT after three years from first registration. Nearly new cars under 12 months old, for example, won’t need one for at least two more years.

Can I get PCP or HP finance on a nearly new car?

Nearly new cars can qualify for Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) and Hire Purchase (HP) finance, subject to credit approval and availability.
