What our customers say
For used Fiat 500 cars, choose Arnold Clark
Arnold Clark offers the best used Fiat 500 deals, guaranteed.
The Fiat 500 is one of the most popular supermini cars in the UK. First launched in 2008, this modern classic is a reimagination of the Italian city car that stopped production in 1975. It joins the ranks of other modernised classics such as the VW Beatle and BMW’s MINI Cooper that have also taken their classic heritage and retro design and transformed them into popular updated versions with all the latest features and mod cons.
Most commonly found as its petrol variant, the Fiat 500 also comes with a diesel engine Fiat also recently launched the 500e – an all-electric version of the car. These various options make the Fiat 500 an attractive proposition for all drivers, as it is a cost-effective city runabout that also performs well on the motorway. Its distinctive styling also attracts drivers that want a car brimming with retro personality.
This small city car has a deceptive amount of space inside and seats four people, as well as a small boot at 185-litre capacity, however, you wouldn’t want to rely on it for long holidays away.

Fiat 500e trims:
Although Fiat has only released three main trim levels for the 500, this doesn’t mean that the options are limited. In fact, the Fiat 500 comes with a myriad of options so there are many choices available when looking for a second-hand Fiat 500. Outside of all the different optional extras, Fiat also releases an almost never-ending flow of limited editions of the Fiat 500 which include specific styling and paint colours that highlight the individualism and character of this classic Italian motor.
There are three main engine types available, within petrol and diesel: the 1.2-litre 69HP that comes as an Eco version and provides the attractive zero road tax and better fuel efficiency, albeit at a slightly higher initial price; the 0.9-litre petrol which comes in two options, a 85bhp and a 105bhp, the later providing lower fuel efficiency but providing a slightly faster 0-62mph time; and lastly, the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel which delivers 95bhp and claims to be the most fuel-efficient, delivering 83.1 mpg.
With the ever-increasing popularity of hybrid and electric vehicles, it’s a smart and timely move from Fiat to offer their electric editions, especially considering the typical audience for the 500 is younger and potentially more sensitive to environmental issues and more open to newer technologies.
The Pop is Fiat’s entry-level trim for the 500 and brings with it the basic features you would expect from a trim of this calibre. Completed with 7 airbags and Dualdrive power steering, the list of bells and whistles is a short one. Electric windows, electric mirrors, radio/CD and MP3 player and remote central locking are the extent of the limited feature list of this fun city runaround.
With the Pop Star, which is the step up from the Pop, it provides the driver with the standard features that come with the Pop but with the addition of air con, heated door mirrors, 15-inch alloy wheels and 50/50 split folding rear seats. Visually, the inclusion of the alloy wheels really improves the overall aesthetic of this supermini. If your budget allows, it is well worth the additional cost.
The Lounge is the top trim level in the line and comes with a few additional luxuries that have since become the standard across many new cars. The Lounge is fitted with a fixed sunroof and a leather steering wheel. The CD/radio/MP3 player is replaced with a 5-inch touchscreen radio with Bluetooth connectivity. The Lounge is the only one in the range that comes with rear parking sensors as standard (an upgrade across the lower trims) as well as a height-adjustable driver’s seat. There are various chrome trims that come with the Lounge that are often featured on the various limited-edition models.
The Colour Therapy trim takes all the character that is synonymous with the Fiat 500 and runs with it. An exciting and fun trim level, it provides the owner with a car that is bursting with personality – even more than usual! Available in a variety of strong vibrant colours and styling that exaggerates the 500’s cute supermini vibe, it even has a pool ball design gear stick knob! Features-wise, the Colour Therapy has fairly standard functionality with air con, electric windows, remote central locking and radio, CD and MP3 player and power steering.
The 500 S comes with a whole host of features not found on the previously mentioned trims. These include the Abarth sport-styled body kit and the redesigned Abarth interior – although this might not be the Abarth hot hatch, it certainly looks every bit the part. The 500 S is not limited to just the body kit and interior styling, it is also fitted with 500 S embossed sport seats, chrome exhaust, gear knob and door handles as well as 15-inch alloy wheels and tinted windows, with a rear spoiler to complete the look. As with the other trims, the 500 S comes with the same engine options.
The Action comes fitted with the smaller of the two battery sizes that are available with the 500e range. The Action is only available with the ‘city range’ 24kWh battery and 94bhp motor. The 24kWh battery has an official range of 115miles with three driving modes. Features-wise it has everything you would expect to see. Although, there are some options that are only available on the higher trims as the Action is still the entry level Electric.
The Passion was a short-run trim that sat between the Action and the Icon. It was an upgrade on the Action and was fitted with 15-inch alloy wheels, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment interface with wireless connectivity and wireless charging as an option. The Passion is also fitted with front and rear parking sensors. With its new larger battery, it claims to have a range of 188 miles that can go up to 270 miles within the urban cycle setting.
The Icon is probably the most popular 500e due to its combination of great functionality and features. With features you would expect to find on a non-EV, but with the benefits of being a zero-emission vehicle, the Icon comes equipped with a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen on the newer models and also passive entry with a wearable key.
The JBL Premium audio-equipped La Prima by Bocelli trim is a premium model named after the tenor of the same name and exemplifies all of the class and sophistication of this prestigious musician.
There is no doubt that the Fiat 500 is a superb supermini that excels within the city – it has great fuel efficiency and range, but is no slouch once on the open road either. If you like the classic retro styling that personifies this classic Italian model, you’re sure to be pleased with this car.
