With added technology and features borrowed from the Ford Fiesta ST, the performance variant, the ST-Line X offers drivers a premium equipment list that expands on the ST-Line trim. It shares the same engine options as the rest of the trims in the Ford Fiesta range, whilst offering a sportier look.

Ford Fiesta ST-Line X history

Originally launched in 1976, the Ford Fiesta remained a staple on the market until 2023 when it was announced it was being discontinued. Several iterations of the Fiesta were launched over the years. Notably, the Mk2 in 1983, the Mk3 in 1989, the Mk4 in 1995 and the Mk5 in 2002.

The Mk6 was launched in 2008 and received a facelift in 2013. By this point, the Ford Fiesta had become a staple on European roads, selling over 15 million units since its debut. It was also in 2013 that the ST-Line was launched, adding a sportier body kit and equipment to the Ford Fiesta.

In 2016, Ford released the Mk7 with the new ST-Line X trim. While the standard model was also upgraded with a new eight-inch infotainment screen with internet connectivity, the ST-Line X was added to the ST-Line lineup. This was sold alongside the luxury Vignale trim until the Vignale was discontinued in 2021, which saw the ST-Line X fill the gap for a luxury performance trim in the hierarchy.

The ST-Line X is the second-highest trim level on the Ford Fiesta – one down from the ST-3 in the post-2018 model. Sitting directly above the Titanium and ST-Line trims, the ST-Line X adds a range of premium features to the Fiesta.

What features and equipment does the Ford Fiesta ST-Line X have?

The exterior of the Ford Fiesta ST-Line X features unique front and rear bumpers, including an ST-Line front grille, a trim-specific body kit and a body-coloured rear spoiler, to give the car a stylish look. It boasts LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and integrated fog lights. These lights turn on automatically to improve visibility when light levels drop as well as in adverse weather conditions. They also come with high beam assist, which recognises oncoming vehicles at night and automatically switches the headlights from main to dipped beam.

The ST-Line X comes with 18-inch alloys, which is the same size as the top-tier ST-3 trim.

Inside the cabin, owners will find a series of features and technology that enhance the driving experience. These include partial leather upholstered seats with extra side support, a heated sports steering wheel and a SYNC 2.5 eight-inch infotainment screen. The ST Line X also has a 4.2-inch colour ice-blue illuminated analogue cluster with a trip computer, for access to key vehicle information.

The front seats are heated, and the upgraded climate control system (EATC – Electronic Automatic Temperature Control). This dual-zone system allows the driver and front-seat passenger to tailor the cabin temperature to suit their preferences. The ST-Line X trim also benefits from keyless entry and a reversing camera. Other features include a sports suspension set-up, cruise control and automatic wipers.

The ST-Line X trim offers a choice between the conventional petrol engine and a mild-hybrid power option which was launched in 2020. 2020 also saw the introduction of cross traffic alert, which helps you when reversing out of spaces where visibility is limited, alerting you if approaching vehicles are detected.

With the 1-litre EcoBoost petrol engine, the Mk6 ST-Line X achieves a top speed of 112mph and a 0 to 62mph time of 10.8 seconds. Opt for the 1-litre EcoBoost mHEV with a 7-speed PowerShift gearbox, and the ST-Line X achieves 124mph with 0 to 62mph taking 9.6 seconds.
