What is the Ford Fiesta Titanium?
The Ford Fiesta was first brought to market in 1976. Since then, it has become one of the most iconic and popular cars on British roads. Production of the famous Fiesta ceased in 2023. The manufacturer has retired the celebrated model to focus on their all-electric range - the end of an era for many.
The Titanium trim-level was first debuted on the Ford Focus in 2005. A few years later and the Ford Fiesta would receive the luxurious and well-equipped Titanium trim-level into the range. The Titanium trim was brought in to replace the traditional Ghia iterations. The Ghia iterations were considered as Ford’s most well-equipped and range-topping models at that time. These were phased out by Ford in the late 2000s in favour of the new, improved, and sportier Titanium. It has since become the best-selling trim-level across all Ford models.
The Ford Fiesta Titanium offers drivers a sportier, more luxurious style of the model, whilst still being affordable. The Ford Fiesta Titanium is rivalled by the Skoda Fabia SE L and the Toyota Yaris Icon in terms of equipment, technology and affordability. There have been 7 iterations of the Fiesta since 1976, with the Titanium being introduced on the Mk6 version:
- Mk1 - 1976 – 1983
- Mk2 - 1983 – 1989
- Mk3 - 1989 – 1997
- Mk4 - 1995 – 2002
- Mk5 - 2002 – 2008
- Mk6 - 2008 – 2016
- Mk7 - 2016 – 2023
Where does the Ford Fiesta Titanium sit in the range?
Depending on the year of manufacture, the Titanium trim-level moves around the trim hierarchy. In Mk7 models manufactured post-2022, it is considered to be a second-tier trim. The Ford Fiesta Titanium sits above the entry-level Fiesta Trend in this trim hierarchy. It sits below the Titanium X, Active, Active-X, ST-Line and ST-Line X variations. These trims subsequently sit below performance models like the Fiesta ST 2 and Fiesta ST 3.
In Mk6 models, the hierarchy differs slightly. The Fiesta Zetec was the entry-level trim in this lineup, followed by the ST-Line in red or black editions. The Fiesta Titanium and Titanium X are top-tier trims in this hierarchy before the performance models. The performance variations included the Fiesta ST, ST-1, ST-2 and ST-3.
What equipment does the Ford Fiesta Titanium have?
On Mk7 facelift models manufactured post-2022, you can expect a smart exterior with plenty of substance inside. 15-inch 10-spoke structured steel wheels with black or silver covers come as standard. To ensure excellent visibility, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights are also featured. The high-gloss chrome grille surround and satin grille insert adds curb appeal to the model, making it instantly recognisable out on the roads.
A suite of technology is offered in the Fiesta Titanium, including Ford’s SYNC 3 Navigation infotainment system. This is hosted on an 8-inch touchscreen. In-car entertainment features like DAB radio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and USB connectivity are included.
These iterations of the Titanium also have FordPass Connect which connects the vehicle to the internet. This can provide the driver with live traffic updates and hot-spot connectivity. Additionally, selectable drive modes enable the driver to tailor the car’s performance to individual preferences. Rear parking sensors are also included with the Titanium trim.
Mk7 Titanium models (post-2022) come with turbocharged 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engines. These are available with outputs of 100bhp, 125bhp and 155bhp. There was also the option of a 1.0-litre EcoBoost Hybrid (MHEV).
Mk6 Fiesta Titanium models differ slightly in terms of features, equipment and engines. You can expect 16-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels, heated door mirrors with electronic controls and automatic headlights. These models are also available with additional features like an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and power-folding side mirrors with puddle lamps and rain-sensing wipers.
A black leather upholstered steering wheel, handbrake and gearstick add a touch of luxury to the cockpit. There is also privacy glass in the rear. In terms of in-car entertainment, Mk6 models offer an 8-inch touchscreen display which hosts the SYNC 3 infotainment system. This is where the SYNC 3 Navigation sat-nav system is found.
A range of petrol and diesel engines are available on the Mk6 Ford Fiesta Titanium. The 1.0-litre petrol five-speed manual transmission option generates 80bhp, going from 0-60mph in 14.9 seconds. There is also a 1.0-litre EcoBoost turbo-petrol engine with 100bhp, with options of five-speed manual or PowerShift auto transmissions. The 125bhp turbo-petrol engine achieves 125bhp and has five-speed manual transmission. The Mk6 Ford Fiesta Titanium has only one diesel engine option. The 1.5-litre turbodiesel engine comes with five-speed manual transmission and generates 75bhp.
