Polestar (pronounced pohl-star) is an innovative Swedish car manufacturer. They It isare known for its commitment to sustainability and innovation. Founded in 1996 by racing drivers Jan ‘Flash’ Nilsson and Christian Dahl, Polestar was initially responsible for producing racing cars for Volvo under the name Flash Engineering. It became Polestar in 2005, and Volvo acquired the company in 2015. Volvo then spent the next two years modelling the business into a standalone company.

Today, Polestar focuses its efforts on producing electric and hybrid cars. This has helped the company develop a reputation for innovation and cutting-edge design. There are also handy drive assists like real time traffic updates and over-the-air software updates. AutoTrader named the Polestar 2 New Car of the Year in 2022. This reflected its crafted design and impressive performance. In the same year, EcoCar voted the Polestar 2 the Best Electric Compact Executive Car.

Polestar won the award for Best Design Language in the 2022 Car Design Awards. It also secured a prestigious Best of the Best award in Red Dot’s 2021 awards. This celebrated the excellent design quality of these cars and their sustainability standards. They also achieved Two Marie Claire sustainability awards in 2021. This first was for Best Green Emission Initiative. The second was for Best Sustainable Interior – recognising Polestar for its sustainability efforts.
