What is the Škoda Kamiq SE-L?

The SE-L trim is the flagship option on the Škoda Kamiq SE-L – a subcompact crossover SUV. This model was first released in 2019 and is Škoda’s smallest SUV model, sitting below the Karoq, Enyaq and Kodiak models. Škoda Kamiq SE-L history

The SE-L trim was present in the Škoda Kamiq’s trim lineup from its first launch in 2019 up until the Kamiq’s facelift in 2023. Borrowing design elements from other Škoda SUVs, the Kamiq comes with a striking front profile thanks to its wide front grille, moulded headlights and sculpted front bumper.

It is also built on Volkswagen’s MQB platform, along with other models like the SEAT Arona and Volkswagen T-Cross. Despite sharing some design elements with other models, such as its front-wheel drive build, the Kamiq’s good balance of practicality and performance single it out in a crowded field.

When the Škoda Kamiq SE-L first launched, it was initially available with a 1.6-litre diesel engine that generated 113bhp and achieved 0-62mph in just over 10 seconds. The Škoda Kamiq received a facelift in 2023. This added subtle exterior design changes, added new cabin technology and revised the trim line-up. The SE-L was dropped from the range and was replaced by the SE-L Executive and the sporty Monte Carlo trim.

Where does the Škoda Kamiq SE-L sit in the range?

The Škoda Kamiq launched with a range of three trims: the entry-level S, SE and range-topping SE-L. Compared to the other trims, the SE-L came with a wider selection of technology and drive assists, larger wheels and a larger infotainment touchscreen.

With the 2023 facelift, the SE-L trim was replaced by the SE-L Executive. This trim retained many of the features of the SE-L trim while also introducing a heating pack and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The Monte Carlo trim became the flagship option, featuring signature exterior styling and badging, a wider selection of power engines and new leather upholstery.

What features and equipment does the Kamiq SE-L have?

The Škoda Kamiq SE-L benefits from lots of exterior design enhancements that help it stand out on the road. You’ll find 18-inch Crater alloy wheels, which are larger than those available on the SE and S trims. There are also body-coloured front and rear bumpers, as well as chrome roof rails, chrome window frame surrounds and rear LED lights. Both the head and rear lights come with dynamic indicators.

Step into the cabin and you’ll find textile floor mats for extra grip. There’s also contrasting black and silver fabric microsuede upholstery on the seats that keeps you comfortable over long distances. On the centre console, you’ll find a 9.2-inch Amundsen touchscreen display. This screen comes with sat nav, Bluetooth and a DAB radio. The entry-level petrol engine on the Škoda Kamiq SE-L is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit that generates either 94bhp or 109bhp depending on the configuration. The 109bhp engine goes from 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds and can be paired with an automatic gearbox, while the former is only available with a manual. There is also a 1.5-litre petrol that produces 148bhp and goes from 0-62mph in around eight seconds.
