Audi A1 history

The Audi A1 is a supermini car and was first launched in 2010 – it is the most affordable car in the Audi range. In 2011, a five-door version called the Sportback was unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show.

This small car delivers impressive fuel economy and stylish design. It’s the smallest car of the Audi range but that does not mean a shortage in quality – it’s packed with a well-equipped interior, and it holds its value well.

Audi A1 body styles, engines and economy

A used Audi A1 offers a choice of two body styles – the standard three-door A1 or the five-door Sportback mode.

The A1’s entry-level engine is a 1.0 litre petrol engine. There are also 1.4 litre petrol and 1.6 litre diesel options available. The 1.4 Audi A1 has an impressive average of 60.1 mpg and the 1.6 diesel averages at around 75 mpg and is exempt from road tax. Diesel engines are only available in used A1 models as the second-generation dropped diesel from the line-up.

What are the Audi A1 trim levels?

The A1 supermini is available in a range of trim levels:

  • A1 Technik
  • A1 Sport
  • A1 S Line
  • A1 Black Edition
  • A1 S Line Competition
  • A1 Vorsprung

The prestige small car market is a competitive one with the Audi A1 up against the BMW 1 Series, Mercedes-Benz A-Class and the DS 3 to name a few.

Whether you’re looking to finance an Audi A1 or purchase one, we have a wide range of used Audi A1s available to buy online safely with Click & Collect and home delivery options available.
