Audi overview

Audi – pronounced as au-dii – is a luxury car manufacturer founded in Germany. Its famous slogan, ‘vorsprung durch Technik’, means ‘progress through technology’ and is a founding principle of Audi’s manufacturing. First launched in 1996 as a three-door hatchback, the model has evolved over four generations, adding five-door hatchback and four-door saloon models to its range. The Audi A5, first released in 2007, is one of the brand’s most recognisable executive cars. The pinnacle of the A5 lineup is the RS5, a performance-focused model available in Coupé and Sportback body styles. The Audi A4 is another of the brand’s popular luxurious and powerful executive cars. First coming to the market in 1994, it has evolved over more than five generations. And thanks to its powerful V6 petrol and diesel engines, premium cabin and unmistakable looks, it was voted as the Best Premium Car at the Fleet News Awards in 2016.

Compact, powerful and well-designed, the upmarket Audi A1 was revealed in 2010 as a sporty three-door supermini. With the addition of the five-door ‘Sportback’ in 2011, the Audi A1 became one of the brand’s most versatile, all-rounder designs, and won What Car?’s Car of the Year in the same year
