What is the Ford EcoSport ST-Line

The Ford EcoSport ST-Line is a fun, sporty trim level offered in Ford's lineup of SUVs. Like the base model, the EcoSport ST-Line is ideal for families. Its high roofline and seating afford occupants plenty of leg and headroom and a good view of the road. The boot is a practical 365 litres and has a side-opening door for convenience. ISOFIX mounts are also in the outer rear seats to easily secure car seats, adding to its appeal for young families.

The ST-Line reshapes the spoiler of the standard EcoSport, tweaking the side skirts and bumpers, redesigning the front grille and adding new headlights and sport suspension. The ST-Line differs from the base trim EcoSport through its range of technology. It expands the kit list found on the EcoSport, introducing several comfort and convenience features.

The Ford EcoSport ST-Line was introduced with the 2018 facelift. It competes against sporty iterations of the Seat Arona and Nissan Juke with its sleek design and practicality.

Ford EcoSport ST-Line history

The Ford EcoSport first came to the UK market in its second generation, with the first only available overseas. The Ford EcoSport ST-Line was introduced in 2018 as part of the Mk2 EcoSport's facelift. It is built on the same platform as the well-loved Ford Fiesta. It offers a familiar and reliable ride with good handling and performance, even with the EcoSport's larger frame and increased weight. It is available with two engine sizes, each with several power outputs.

The first is the petrol-powered 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. It comes with 100bhp, 123bhp or 138bhp. The 100bhp engine has a top speed of 105mph and goes from 0-62mph in 11.9 seconds. The 123bhp engine takes the EcoSport from 0-62mph in 11 seconds on its way to a top speed of 111mph. The top-end 138bhp engine reaches a maximum speed of 115mph, with a 0-62mph time of just over 10 seconds.

The EcoSport ST-Line is available with a 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine with two power outputs. The first produces 99bhp and reaches a top speed of 105mph. It has a 0-62mph time of 13.6 seconds. The second engine option produces 125bhp and takes the EcoSport from 0-62mph in 10.7 seconds. It has a top speed of 113mph.

Where does the Ford EcoSport ST-Line sit in the range?

Since the 2018 facelift, the Ford EcoSport has been available in three trims: the Titanium, the ST-Line and the Active. The entry-level trim is the EcoSport Titanium, followed by the ST-Line and the Active trim.

The ST-Line is distinct from the Titanium trim with its sporty bodywork and benefits from the addition of sports suspension for a firmer ride and enhanced performance. Sitting above the ST-Line is the more rugged Active trim.

What features and equipment does the EcoSport ST-Line have?

The EcoSport ST-Line features a unique grille, ST-Line bumpers and side skirts, a large rear spoiler and ST-Line-styled rear lights. It comes with accentuated black headlights, a contrast roof and black-finish roof rails. Its 17-inch dark tarnish alloy wheels complete the exterior look, giving the EcoSport ST-Line a striking image.

Inside, the ST-Line has sports pedals, which on manual versions come with stainless steel inserts. With the ST-Line, you also get premium red stitching seen with the Sensico-trimmed steering wheel, Sensico-trimmed handbrake handle and gear shift gaiter, and front and rear floor mats.

QuickClear heated windscreens demist and de-ice with speed and ease, meaning you can always set off quickly, no matter the conditions.
