What is the Ford Focus Titanium X?
The Ford Focus is one of the UK’s top-selling cars and it remains one of the most recognisable cars on the road today. The Focus is an all-round car, great for long journeys or nipping around the city. It has a good amount of passenger space and comes with ISOFIX mounts, making it appealing for families. Its storage options make it an attractive choice for those travelling regularly with luggage or equipment.
The Titanium X trim was introduced during the Mk3 Focus's 2014 facelift and returned with 2018's Mk4. The Focus is offered in hatchback, estate and saloon body types. The Mk4 Titanium X variation is a hatchback. The Mk4's design reflects the marque family style, with sleek angular headlights, a large grille and angular bodywork.
Ford Focus Titanium X history
The Ford Focus has been around since 1998, with subsequent generations arriving in 2005, 2011 and 2018. Its first-generation facelift moved the bumper-mounted indicators into the headlight unit. The second generation kept the iconic styling of the first, tweaking the bodywork and adding angular creases. The third generation overhauled the visuals entirely, keeping a vague silhouette but changing the sloping back to accommodate a square boot, as well as keeping the front grille in keeping with the family of Ford cars at the time.
The Mk4 edited its look further, making it more angular, enlarging the front grille and making some minor changes to keep it updated with the family look. During the third and fourth generations, the Titanium X arrived, providing a flusher experience, with tech, comfort and convenience features not found in lower-tier trims.
The Mk4 Focus Titanium X is available with four engines - three petrol and one diesel. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine produces 123bhp and gets from 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds. It has a top speed of 124mph. There is also a 1.0-litre hybrid petrol engine with two available power outputs. The first produces 123bhp, has a 0-62mph time of 10.3 seconds and has a top speed of 123mph. The second produces 153bhp, reaches 130mph and has a 0-62mph time of 9.4 seconds. The singular diesel option is a 1.5-litre engine capable of producing 118bhp. It reaches 120mph and has a 0-62mph time of 10.2 seconds.
Where does the Ford Focus Titanium X sit in the range?
The Ford Focus Titanium X is the higher-spec version of the Titanium trim. It sits alongside the Active X and ST-Line X in the X range of Focuses, adding further tech and styling that set the model apart.
The Titanium X enjoys comfort features like heated front seats and a heated steering wheel as standard, otherwise reserved as an optional extra across most other Focus trims. It gains unique stitching and detailing giving the Titanium X its own individualised touch on the Focus lineup.
What features and equipment does the Ford Focus Titanium X have?
The Titanium X provides comfort and luxury for all occupants, with an array of technology and features which enhance driver comfort and convenience.
Driving the Focus Titanium X is more convenient than ever, thanks to Ford's iconic Quickclear front windscreen. The super-heat technology works within the windscreen to quickly de-mist, de-ice and de-fog the glass, eliminating waiting times on cold and wet mornings.
It also comes with automatic wipers and lights, meaning you are not caught out by sudden changes in brightness or weather. An auto-dimming rearview mirror helps with anti-dazzle on the roads at night. Electrically heated, adjustable and power-folding door mirrors mean rear visibility is always maintained.
The Ford Focus Titanium X builds on many of the features offered in the Titanium trim, but there are a host of features that further improve comfort and convenience which are unique to the Titanium X. The steering wheel and front seats are heated, enhancing comfort for the driver on colder mornings.
The front seats are also power-adjustable, making it easier than ever to find the perfect driving position. The 10-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system works well with the infotainment system, where you can make use of DAB radio or connected devices, either by Bluetooth or Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Titanium X also comes with wireless charging, helping keep your smart devices charged on the go. The dashboard has a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, providing information clearly with a high-tech touch. Ambient LED lighting illuminates cupholders, footwells and door openings.
The interior of the Titanium X has metal grey stitching on the gear shift lever, steering wheel and floor mats. Externally, the Focus Titanium X rides on 17-inch pearl grey alloy wheels. The front upper grille has satin aluminium chrome surrounds and bars and the front bumper has satin aluminium accents.
