What is the Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition?

The Elite Edition is a high-level trim on the Vauxhall Corsa supermini. This trim is only available on petrol and diesel versions of the Vauxhall Corsa and was introduced to the model’s trim lineup in 2019, after the release of the sixth generation.

The Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition is designed as a sporty and premium trim in the lineup. For this reason, it is available with a selection of four engines – three of which come with a turbocharger for even more performance. This makes it a great option for both city driving and track days. It is a worthy competitor to trims like the Ford Fiesta Vignale and Renault Clio Esprit Alpine.

The Elite Edition comes with lots of performance-enhancing technology and interior and exterior styling that helps it stand out as a highly desirable trim.

Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition history

The Vauxhall Corsa was first released in 1982. The Mk1 was initially available as a three-door hatchback and a two-door saloon, before four and five-door models were launched afterwards. Over the next 16 years three more generations of the Vauxhall Corsa were released, each adding to the engine range available on the model, as well as upgrading power outputs and technology. The fifth generation in 2014 added a new interior as well as adding an entry-level petrol engine, a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder ECOTECH unit.

The Mk6 came to market in 2019 with a reduced range of two petrol engines and one diesel. This generation also saw the launch of the all-electric Corsa-E. The Elite Edition was first introduced as part of the sixth generation’s trim range.

Designed as a sporty iteration of the Mk6, the Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition is available with two petrol engines and one diesel. The entry-level petrol is a 1.2-litre unit that generates 73bhp and goes from 0-62mph in just over 12.4 seconds. This same engine can also be configured to produce 98bhp, pushing its acceleration time to just over 10.2 seconds. The diesel engine is a 1.5-litre that generates 100bhp and goes from 0-62mph in around 10 seconds.

Where does the Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition sit in the range?

The Vauxhall Corsa Mk6 has different trim lines depending on whether you opt for the all-electric drivetrain or the petrol and diesel option. The Vauxhall Corsa-e’s trim range includes the entry-level SE Premium, SRi Premium and Elite Premium.

The petrol and diesel Vauxhall Corsa’s trims are the SE Edition, SRi Edition, Elite Edition and range-topping Ultimate, making the Elite Edition a mid-to-higher-level trim. It sits just below the Ultimate trim owing to comprehensive sat nav options, premium Alcantara leather upholstery, Matrix LED headlights and front seat massaging functionality.

What features and equipment does the Corsa Elite Edition have?

The Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition sits above the model’s entry-level trims due to its combination of performance and inner and outer styling. Its 17-inch diamond-cut, bi-colour alloy wheels are a stylish upgrade on the SE Edition’s 16-inch silver alloy wheels. And with dark tinted rear windows and a chrome-effect lower side window trim, the Elite Edition adds lots of welcome styling to the exterior.

You’ll also find LED front fog lights and headlights, both of which benefit from this trim’s high beam assist system that automatically adjusts your headlight beam.

Inside, you’ll find fabric and leather-effect upholstery on your seats, and leather trimmings on your multiuse steering wheel. Vauxhall’s heating pack is included as standard on this trim, meaning there’s front seat and steering wheel heating for added luxury.

There’s also a front centre armrest which comes with a handy storage container. Electronic climate control makes it easy to keep the cabin at the right temperature, while a seven-inch digital instrument cluster is a notable upgrade on the SE Edition.

The Vauxhall Corsa Elite Edition also comes with lots of useful technology to make your drive easier, including automatic lighting control, an anti-dazzle rear view mirror, front and rear parking sensors and a panoramic rear-view camera. Your windscreen wipers will automatically activate when rain is detected, while a lane departure warning system, forward collision alert, drowsiness alert and speed sign recognition systems all help to keep you safe.
