For used Citroën Grand C4 Picasso cars, choose Arnold Clark

The Citroën Grand C4 Picasso five-door is a stylish, multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) that's been on our streets since 2006. The vehicle earned its spot as a well-loved car, winning 'Best MPV up to £10,000' in What Car?'s Used Car Awards in 2020 and Auto Express's MPV of the Year 2017.

Citroën Grand C4 Picasso updates and facelifts

2014 brought about the second generation of the C4 Grand Picasso, while a 2018 facelift saw the model renamed Grand C4 Spacetourer. It's still very much the same car underneath, occupying a much-loved space in the MPV market as both utilitarian and comfortable.

With seven seats, three ISOFIX mounts in the middle row and up to 1,700kg towing capacity (depending on the trim) the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso is the quintessential family car. There are petrol and diesel engines to choose from with varying power outputs, meaning there’s a Citroën Grand C4 Picasso to suit many different needs.

Practicality and style of the car

Thanks to its seven seats, you can take the whole family away in your Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. You’ll comfortably fit four or more adults in the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. With a maximum towing capacity of 1,700kg, you can also comfortably tow medium-sized caravans, trailers and other items perfect for a family getaway. If it’s city use you’re looking for, the Grand C4 Picasso has you covered – soft suspension is perfect for absorbing inner-city bumps.

The Grand C4 Picasso has 165 litres of boot space with the third row of seats up. Fold them down and you get a very respectable 793 litres, more than enough space for luggage or camping equipment. If that’s not enough, you can fold the second row of seats flat, too, opening up 2,181 litres of boot space. For even longer items, the front passenger seat also folds flat.

There are three ISOFIX mounts in the second row of seats, meaning you can safely strap everyone in whether you’re going on a road trip or the school drop-off. The panoramic roof and large front windscreen add a light, airy feel to the spacious cabin in the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. Climbing through the trim levels sees the addition of heated front seats as well as a massage function and with 12V plugs in the front and second rows of seats, everyone can keep their devices charged while on the go.

Running costs

With a road tax grouping between A and F for 2014 to 2018 vehicles, you could be paying £0 annually. Insurance for your used Citroën Grand C4 Picasso is average in its class, falling in insurance groups 13–26 (out of 50).

How a used Citroën Grand C4 Picasso drives

There are a handful of engines to choose from on your used Citroën Grand C4 Picasso. There's one petrol engine: the 1.2-litre PureTech 130. This engine delivers 130bhp and 230Nm of torque, making for a 0-62mph time of 10.8 seconds and reaching a top speed of 125mph. It returns 56.5mpg and generates 115g/km of CO2 emissions. This comes with a six-speed manual or EAT6 automatic transmission.

The entry-level diesel engine is the BlueHDi 100. This 1.6-litre turbocharged engine produces 100bhp and 254Nm of torque, with a 13.1-second 0-62mph time and a top speed of 109mph. It returns 74.3mpg while producing just 99g/km of CO2 emissions. This engine comes with a five-speed manual gearbox.

The BlueHDi 120 increases the diesel's power, delivering 120bhp and 300Nm of torque, getting it up to 62mph in 11.7 seconds with a maximum speed of 117mph. It returns 70.6mpg and generates 105g/km of CO2 emissions. This version comes with either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

The most powerful diesel engine is a 2.0-litre BlueHDi 150, generating 150bhp and 300Nm of torque, with a 0-62mph time of 9.8 seconds and a maximum speed of 130mph. It returns between 65.7mpg and 68.9mpg and generates 107g/km of CO2 emissions. This version comes with six-speed automatic or manual transmission.

No matter what engine you choose for your used Citroën Grand C4 Picasso, you can be sure you're getting a powerful engine capable of comfortably cruising down motorways, taking off from junctions and traffic lights around the city and everything in between.
