What is the Vauxhall Crossland SRi Nav?

The Vauxhall Crossland SRi Nav is a mid-level trim of the 2020 subcompact SUV crossover. Available when the manufacturer relaunched the model.

This is a family car offering lots in the way of practicality and economy. It has enough punch under the bonnet to enable you to zip around town with ease. Step inside the Vauxhall Crossland SRi Nav and you’ll find a good amount of ergonomically designed cabin space and a decent amount of kit. Packaged up in a car that’s big enough to cope with the demands of family life but small enough to manoeuvre through narrow streets and ease into parking spaces.

Vauxhall Crossland SRi Nav history

Unveiled to the media in January 2017 before making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March of the same year. Its introduction coincided with the manufacturer discontinuing the Meriva. This was a response to the rising demand for subcompact SUVs and the decline in interest of compact MPVs.

The SRI Nav was available from the first generation Crossland along with four other trims – the SE, SE Nav, Tech Line Nav, Elite, SRi Nav and Elite Nav. Features on the Crossland included power-assisted steering, cruise control, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, ISOFIX and dual-zone climate control. The Mk1 SRi Nav also featured interior ambient lighting, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, rear parking sensors and tinted rear windows for added privacy.

The Crossland X received a facelift and a name change (ditching the ‘X’) in 2020. It incorporated Vauxhall's Vizor styling to the front end (also seen on the manufacturer's Mokka model), a lightly re-sculpted rear. It had upgraded suspension and steering and new technology. The SRI Nav trim featured again as a mid-tier trim. It comes with a black roof, 17-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, a 3.5-inch colour instrument display, eight-inch infotainment screen and interior ambient lighting.

The Vauxhall Crossland Sri Nav is available in both petrol and diesel engines. They both had their power outputs revised , and had a choice of both automatic or manual transmissions. Petrol engines include 1.2-litre (83PS), 1.2-litre (110PS) Turbo and 1.2-litre (130PS) Turbo petrol engines (automatic or manual transmission are available on the latter). Diesel variations include the manual 1.5-litre (110PS) Turbo D and the 1.5-litre (120PS) Turbo D automatic.

What features and equipment does the SRi Nav have?

With its eye-catching contrast colour roof, tinted rear windows, silver-effect roof rails and 17-inch diamond-cut five twin-spoke alloy wheels, the SRi Nav has plenty of kerb appeal. Heated door mirrors, automatic headlight levelling and LED head and taillights increase both convenience and style stakes.

The Multimedia Navi Pro system provides the infotainment. It includes an eight-inch colour touchscreen in the centre of the dash, sat nav, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Music and podcasts can be played via the six speakers, and phones kept charged using the two USB ports. Up front, you’ll find a 3.5-inch colour instrument display, automatic anti-dazzle rear-view mirror and ambient lighting.

For comfort, you get dual-zone climate control, a leather steering wheel, ergonomic active front seats (AGR-approved) and a front centre armrest. There are sliding 60/40 rear seat with centre seat armrest. There are plenty of storage spaces around the cabin, including in the front centre armrest, in the FlexFloor with cargo underfloor divider and in storage pockets on the back of the driver and passenger seats. The boot itself offers 410 litres of space; fold down the back seats and that flies up to 1,255 litres. Its boxy shape also helps during those tricky car-loading moments.

Safety features include ISOFIX child seat mountings and anchor points, front seat airbags, front seat side-impact airbags, ABS, electronic stability programme monitors, traction control and corner stability control.

The overall feel is one of spaciousness with generous legroom and headroom for this class of car. There are three seats in the back, all large enough to transport three adult passengers comfortably.
