Apprenticeships are a fantastic way to kick-start your career and earn while you learn. At Arnold Clark, we have a range of apprenticeship opportunities available, from Technician Apprenticeships to Aftersales Customer Service Advisor Apprenticeships – there really is something for everyone!

Rental Apprenticeship

Salary: £7.25 per hour

This brand-new apprenticeship is all about customer service and ensuring our customers have the best experience when they rent a car from Arnold Clark. If you’re an excellent communicator, willing to go the extra mile for your customer and interested in developing your digital skills, then this is the apprenticeship for you.

Technician Apprenticeship

Salary: £7.25 per hour

Interested in cars? Always wanted to be a mechanic? Then this is the apprenticeship for you. You’ll get all the training you need to become a fully qualified mechanic while getting hands-on experience from day one working on a range of models.


Salary: £7.25 per hour

Customer service, administration, warehouse experience – this apprenticeship has it all! If you’re looking for an opportunity to develop your skills and assist in the smooth running of Arnold Clark, then this is the role for you.

Bodyshop Apprenticeship

Salary: £7.25 per hour

Out with the old and in with the new – these apprenticeships are all about getting cars back to their top condition, assessing bodywork damage and deciding on the best course of action to get it back on the road. If you’re a problem solver with a keen eye for detail – this is the one for you!

Aftersales Customer Advisor Apprenticeship

Salary: £7.25 per hour

This brand-new apprenticeship is all about customer service and getting to grips with all the parts on a car. You’ll be using lots of digital tools to manage the customers experience, so if you’re an excellent communicator, willing to go the extra mile and interested in developing your digital skills – this is the apprenticeship for you.

Electronic Fire & Security Systems Apprenticeship

Salary: £7.25 per hour

Security and fire alarms is a fast-growing industry, giving people and businesses reassurance and high-quality security in their homes and workplace. As an Electronic Fire & Security Systems apprentice, you’ll learn the ins and outs of fire and security systems and have the ability to install and maintain the technology.

Do I need NI proof to be employed (may be lost or not received it yet)?

Yes, we need proof of National Insurance before we can process the application.

I don’t have my qualification certificates; do I need these to progress?

Yes, we need proof that qualifications have been achieved. These can be accessed on the SQA Connect website by requesting a copy from the SQA – this may cost a small fee. On the other hand, if you’re still at school, you may be provided with proof of achieved grades.

I have units of the required qualifications, but not the full qualification; can I still apply?

Unfortunately, not – you need to have the full qualification.

What qualifications do I need?

For Technician roles, Body Repair, Spray Painting, Fire & Electronic Security Systems Engineer roles or Garage Equipment Engineer roles, we require the following:

  • Maths
  • English
  • A Science or Technical subject – National 4 or 5 for Scotland and Grade 4-9 or A-C in England.

To work in the Parts department, you need to have:

  • Maths
  • English
  • One other subject – National 4 or 5 for Scotland or Grade 4-9 or A-C for England
