Arnold Clark announces sponsorship of the English Schools’ Football Association

Arnold Clark's new partnership will see the group sponsor ten ESFA Cup competitions and support thousands of schools’ football players on their journey to become national champions in 2024.

Arnold Clark is proud to announce the sponsorship of the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) U16 – U18 National Schools’ Cup competitions.

Since its formation in 1904, the English Schools’ Football Association has been the national governing body for schools’ football in England. As an educational orgnisation, the ESFA is responsible for the running and development of schools competitions at primary and secondary school age – generating playing opportunities for around 700,000 children across the country each season.

With deep-rooted values in education, the ESFA works hard to create equal and inclusive access to the sport. It also values the importance of football in the classroom as much as on the pitch – rewarding individuals who choose to remain in mainstream education and build secure foundations for themselves with qualifications.

The Arnold Clark Schools’ Cup title will cover all U16 – U18 Schools’ Cup competitions, including three girls’ competitions.

Almost 1,800 teams are currently entered into these competitions for the 2023/24 season and it seems likely that the ESFA will reach, if not surpass, entry figures from 2022/23, which was the biggest season in schools’ football history.

Through our sponsorship, we hope to raise awareness of the competitions across England and help to elevate these National Cup competitions to a new level.
