An electric vehicle (EV) charger that claims it will be able to provide 93 miles of range in less than five minutes has been unveiled.

Being hailed as the 'world's fastest EV charger', the 4th Generation Four Gun Charger will have an output of up to 480kw of power and can charge up to four vehicles at the same time.

Created by Zerova, a power supply manufacturer, the 4th Generation Four Gun Charger will come in two options – the standard 360kW model and the expanded 480kW concept design.

It can be used for both passenger and commercial vehicles, and supports the major charging standards CCS-1, CCS-2, CHAdeMO, and GB. It comes with four five-metre-long cables to increase accessibility and could be used for commercial fleets or retail use.

Thinking of making the switch to electric?

The 4th Generation Four Gun Charger product, which was showcased at the eMove360° Europe conference in Germany earlier this month, will officially be launched in late 2023. However, no price has yet been revelead.

Meanwhile, the Arnold Clark Innovation Centre opened last year on Dumbarton Road in Glasgow’s West End with the aim of educating visitors about the benefits of alternative fuel vehicles and why they are becoming so important.

There are more than 60 vehicles on site available to test-drive, from plug-in and self-charging hybrids to fully electric vehicles.

There are no sales at the site, which is specifically an innovation, information, and educational centre.

You can also learn about the different types of charging and generous government tax and grants available if you're thinking of moving to electric.

We have also recently opened a second Innovation Centre in Stafford, England.
