Plans for a new Peugeot 408 have been revealed.

The French company have announced that the new car will combine the 'characteristic codes of SUVs' with a dynamic fastback silhouette.

A spokesperson for Peugeot said: 'Both in terms of design and engineering, the search for high efficiency and the desire to offer new experiences were at the heart of the development of the new Peugeot 408.

'Aimed at those for whom the automobile is a pleasure, the 408 brings an unprecedented allure to the Peugeot family.'

While no further details have been released, it has been confirmed the new Peugeot 408 will be a ‘global’ car, and fully unveiled at the end of this month (June 2022).

Thinking of making the switch to electric?

Peugeot sold nearly 1,200,000 vehicles worldwide in 2020, and not long after celebrating its 210th anniversary, the auto giants updated their logo to a new 'lion brand' to emphasise its 'personality and timelessness'.

Peugeot also recently launched their new 308 model, one of the first Peugeots kitted out with their redesigned logo.

The 308 is available as a hybrid, petrol or diesel. The hybrid model has a PureTech engine with up to 180hp, an 81kW electric motor and eight-speed automatic gearbox.
